Your memory is not an audit trail.
Once you know how something turned out, your memory quietly revises what you expected beforehand, and you are left with the impression that you saw it coming. Hundreds of studies since the 1970s say the same thing: you did not. From the inside, the two feel identical.
Addiem is a private, offline flight recorder for the decisions that matter. It makes that revision impossible, then scores what is left.
HOW IT WORKS
Before you commit, you write the decision: your reasoning, the probability you give it, the date it should be judged, and one checkable sentence defining success. Then a premortem — assume it already failed, and say why.
All of it locks. Rationale, resolution date and success criterion cannot be edited afterwards, from any screen.
When the outcome arrives you score the process separately from the result, because good outcomes routinely come from bad reasoning and everyone remembers those as skill.
Your Brier score and calibration curve build from there — broken down by the kind of problem, which is where most people find out they are sharp in one domain and badly wrong in another.
It also carries sentinel indicators with tripwires you write in advance (and a visible trail when you move them), a probe portfolio for complex decisions, a short-horizon forecast module, and a weekly review.
And one thing you cannot talk your way past: while three of your decisions sit unresolved past their date, you cannot open a new one.

No account, no signup, no telemetry, no server. The desktop app blocks every network protocol except local file access — there is no code path by which your archive could be transmitted, even accidentally. Your data is a plain JSON file in your own user folder with automatic daily backups. Export is one click.
Stated precisely: the archive is not encrypted. Anyone with access to your user account can read it. If you record sensitive decisions, use full-disk encryption.
